W. Matthew Garmon
W. Matthew (Matt) Garmon is a native of Cumberland County, Kentucky, and a graduate of Cumberland County High School. He attended Western Kentucky University and graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in history. Following his attendance at Western Kentucky University, Matt participated in the Canadian Parliamentary Internship Program. Matt then attended the University of Kentucky College of Law where he graduated with his Juris Doctor.
After law school, Matt served as a law clerk for Judge Eddie C. Lovelace, Circuit Judge of the 40th Judicial Circuit of Kentucky, covering Clinton, Cumberland, and Monroe Counties, from 2008 until 2010. Following his service with Judge Lovelace, he joined Carroll & Turner, P.S.C., as an Associate in 2010, and practiced there until 2017. In December, 2017, Matt became one of the founding partners at Garmon & Ramsey, PLLC.
Matt’s practice focuses on personal injury litigation including auto accidents, slip and falls, and wrongful death. Matt is licensed to practice law in all Kentucky courts, state and federal, including the Eastern District of Kentucky, Western District of Kentucky, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Matt has practiced cases at virtually all levels from state and federal trial courts up to the Kentucky Supreme Court.
Matt lives in Monticello with his wife, Jonna, and their son, Anderson (Anders) Pike Garmon, as well as their Australian Shepherd, Dixie. In addition to his law practice, Matt enjoys following sports (especially tennis, boxing, and football). An avid movie fan, Matt has watched thousands of films, including every member of the AFI Top 400 List.
